Dr Hayden Cohen

Having been trained in Australia's 5-year RMIT program, Hayden has had some gifted Osteopaths specializing in pediatrics, visceral osteopathy, cranial and biodynamic/traditional osteopathy pass on their skills throughout the degrees comprehensive subject list (subjects unfortunately left out of the New Zealand program due funding). Lucky enough to have received training in exercise and rehabilitation from osteopaths on the Australian Olympic snowboard team, he has adapted this to his own interests of snowboarding and surfing and enjoys helping people get back to and make the most of their outdoor pursuits.

Hayden has also spent many years persisting at cranial and biodynamic osteopathy. A gentle approach looking towards the adaptive, evolving, and healing mechanisms of the body found at rest and in stillness. Whilst having suffered from numerous heavy concussions from sport himself, many treatments from his lecturers later he has continued to push the boundaries of this treatment of concussion for the betterment of his fellow human beings. Taking a hard hit in loss of life in close family members to cancer early in life, Hayden was also further driven to really listen to systemic health, taking a keen interest in chemistry, biology, genetics, psychology and anatomy to continue to build the tapestry of life that sustains health through these systemic conditions.
Working with other practitioners of many different modalities from Chinese Medicine, Te Rongoa Maori, Surgery, masseuses, homeopathy and others, he has incorporated the best of each and worked on expanding his knowledge and experience. He has also spent months working with Ayurvedic practitioners in India, learning closely how they manage the health of their massive population, coming away with a completely invigorated view of how much food can be specialized as a healer in life, and a severe avoidance of the Ayurveda's fondness for enemas.

Hayden also offers guided tours across the Otago and South Island. With a focus on mind, body and spirit, he can guide you on walks, and nature immersions, which can help your body both heal, and manifest the indwelling intelligence of what your soul has to offer you. Accompanied with hands on sessions in natural environments, this is a great way to achieve recovery from illness or injury, as well as maximizing that positive growth that comes from exploring mountains, forests, and pristine Lakes. Follow on Strava to see some of the areas covered.
